What Sets DHI's DGWS Systems Apart?

DHI's RFI system is installed on the bottom of the tubing string above the tubing on and off tool which is above a standard packer. DHI's packer is installed below the production zone perforations to isolate the production zone from the water injection zone perforations. A conventional API insert or tubing pump (DHI is the only provider of tubing pump style) is seated or installed into the DGWS system. In the production casing annulus, gas and water separates naturally by gravity. The separated gas flows up the annulus to the surface and the brine water in injected below.

DHI's Next Steps
Water is drawn into the intake of the system by the pump discharged out of the top of the pump out of the discharge housing and into the RFI outer barrel. An example of two fluids that are most commonly isolated by the DSB tool is disposal water and the tubing/rod fresh inhibited fluid. The pump then forces the water back down around the outside of the pump barrel, through the BSM tool, the on/off tool and packer and into the lower injection zone.

DHI does not offer the bypass manifold alone. DHI does offer the bypass manifold as an integral part of a complete DGWS system.

The primary function of the DSB tool (shown to the right) is to downhole isolate two separate fluids under dissimilar pressures. An example of two fluids that are most commonly isolated by the DSB tool is disposal and fresh inhibited fluid. The DSB tool is positioned downhole and most commonly above the pump. However, the DSB tool can also be located below a pump or a series of pumps. There are many DGWS advantages for isolating these two fluids. The advantages can be elaborated on and are briefly listed below:

  • Zero Injection Pressure at the Surface
(No surface spills - Extends the life of the surface stuffing box)
  • Holds the Tubing with Fresh Inhibited Water
(No need to treat tubing and rods - Less tubing/rod friction - Provides a rod coolant)
  • Lowers Peak Torque Requirements
(Less rod stress/longer life - Less power consumption)

Load Cell Technology

DHI's load cell technology provides partial and severe pump off control. The load cell installs on the polished rod between the bridal and rod clamp. The minimum and maximum polished rod load can be read easily from a load indicator on the load cell. There are no welding or special brackets required. The load cell is rugged, all-weather, water proof and is insensitive to temperature changes.
